New version 3.9.1 is out:
Bug fixes.
Small change in UI.
New version 3.9.0 is out. A must update:
<> Full
support for zip files. After downloading a screen
(the zip file), just put it in any subfolder under the base folder. Program
will handle it as a normal folder. All things work like usual.
<> No need
for Intel JPEG library any more.
Program uses
New version 3.8.4 is out. A must update:
<> A new powerfull
feature/function that can locate the palette's and progress bar's positions
even for unknown/unsupported kernel versions. Until now the program had build
in support for kernel versions
5.1.2600.0, 5.1.2600.31, 5.1.2600.1106
(SP1) and
for
DUAL CPU systems versions
5.1.2600.0 and 5.1.2600.31
Now
the progarm can locate all the infos

program.
A
relative option at dialog Options.
<> Now, before set a new boot
screen, program will compare the version numbers of the new boot screen with
the original ntoskrnl.exe file located to system32 folder. If found that
versions are different (or the one is for dual cpu
systems while the other not), will show a warning message.
[That way (I think) that BSOD
are limited to almost 0%]
New version 3.8.3 is out
Random screens now support SP1 at version 3.8.2.
[In the previous update, I forgot to update the random screens to
support SP1]
--- Sorry for any truble ---
A small bug (Error 13 - Type mismatch) is now corrected
Support for kernel version 5.1.2600.1106 (SP1)
IF
YOU WANT TO USE THE OLD
Go to dialog Options - 'Boot Screens' tab. There as 'Method to use for new boot
screens' select 'Bitmaps' and there select the 'Use the existing bitmaps in
folder'. Also, check the 'Reset kernel every 3 times, before updating bitmaps'.
Hit the 'Reset kernel' button and after hit
the Ok button.
Now, you are ready to use the boot screens
with SP1
To install SP1 do this
1.1 Reset kernel to
original (menu Boot – Reset Boot Screen to Original)
or
1.2 Boot with the
“Original” OS
2. Reboot
3. Install
SP1
WinXP SP1
Program is NOT compatible with SP1 yet. Probably
Friday will be ready an update. Until then…
Go to dialog Options – ‘Boot screens’ tab. Hit
the ‘Reset kernel’ button. There as 'Method to use for new boot screens' select
'Bitmaps' and select the 'Use the existing bitmaps in folder'. Also, check the
'Reset kernel every 3 times, before updating bitmaps'. Hit the Ok button.
Now program will not update the palette either
the position of progress bar (new kernel has different places to store these
positions). So, you will get an ugly picture (if the image doesn’t have the
default palette) and the progress bar will be always at the same position.
After v. 3.7.7 program loads very fast thumbnails images (when using
INTEL JPEG Library), about 5 times faster than before. Be sure to check it out.
