Animated Logo
Utility
Features Under Development
These are presented in no particular order, and priority changes depending on
my mood.
- Starting a second instance of XrXLogo from an associated file should load the file into
the original instance. My beta testers vetoed this one, I may make
it an option.
- Drag and Drop, drag a logo (or logos) from the explorer and drop
them onto XrXLogo, I am just learning drag and drop, but have high hopes. Complete
- Standard Animation Bar Addition, this feature is already available in a stand alone
program (XrX AddBar). The ability to add an animation bar the same as what is included in
the standard startup logo in the users choice of colors.
- Color Reduction, this one may not make the final release, I am working on a way to
reduce the colors used from 256 to 236 to allow the addition of an animation bar without
having to run the logo through a third party program.
- Image Import (resizing), again this one may not make the final cut, but I am working on
the ability to import and image an resize it to the proper size needed for a startup logo.
- Author signature, this will allow only the author of a logo to modify the information on
the Info tab, this will be based on the registration key of the final shareware version.
- Logo Mask import. This one is a bit different, I wanted the
ability to place a specific logo with animation onto any picture, the result will be the
ability to save a ''animation mask' that will contain the elements to be placed onto
another image on a background that will be replaced by the target images pixels. I am
currently using the early alpha version of this to place my XrX logo in the top corner of
an image and an animation bar at the bottom. Complete
(Well it works at least)
- Automated Command line driven actions. the final target of this is to be able to supply
the program with a 256 color bitmap of any size, and have it resize, reduce colors and add
either a mask or animation bar to the logo then install the logo. Giving this a front end
that would pick an image at random from a directory, I could get random startup screens
but all with my own choice of animation. I have tested a few different libraries for
importing JPEG's and GIF's but I have not found one that I am happy with yet
- Placement of animated text on a logo, selecting Font, Location and Colors the user could
add animated text without having to set all the colors in a paint program.
- Hot Link to Internet web page for sample logos, I have to learn
how to call URL.DLL, but I think it should be pretty easy. If it works, I may even add a
link to the documentation until a help file is available. Complete
- A full help file with instructions on how to create Animated Logos as well as usage of
this program. Halfway
- The ability to modify the palette entries directly, and perhaps do
the color fading in the program automatically rather than fighting another programs
palette editing routines. Complete
