Using DMS Files

DMS or DiskMasher was a way of compressing Amiga disks down into a single file. This was mostly used by people who wanted to backup their disks onto tape or CD. The drawback was that once compressed you couldn't easily write anything to the dms file and therefore WinUAE treats DMS files as read only. The reason I am including it in the guide is because a lot of files you get off the net are in DMS format.

How to use a DMS file

Just treat DMS files exactly the way you would ADF files. You can read how to open disks in the "Using ADF Files" page.
