100% COMPLETE!

Okay, here I am going to do my best to document what I do to this cabinet. This cabinet was a Twin Cobra, obviously a conversion, and I’m not sure what it was originally, but I will try to find out, just for curiosity.  It came with panel, 27” monitor, and marquee. As with most of them, it is a filthy mess.

The control panel was pretty much toast. Ruined grommets and burnt buttons (as per usual).  Time for a replacement parts order!!

The inside wasn’t too bad, and the conversion to a Twin Cobra was done pretty well.  I’m going to keep most of the insides of this cab. Going to install a new Jamma harness on this and use a J-pac to make use of that huge monitor.

Going with the yellow t-molding to set off this otherwise drab cabinet.  This one might just turn out quite nicely!

The monitor is installed in the cabinet, the t-molding is in place, and the holes are filled and ready for sanding/paint.

The smoked plexi made for a better finish than I had hoped! The screen just seems to come out of nowhere!

Lot of color on this baby. Have it working with a vga splicer, but after seeing the J-pac in action, I decided to go that route. (Man I am beginning to sound like a commercial for Ultimarc products!)

This is turning into one kickass looking cabinet!  Hope it plays as good as it looks!

All the holes and cracks are filled and painted, and am just waiting for the J-pac.  The new jamma wire harness is ready for installation, but until the card arrives, I’ve been too unmotivated to install it in the cab!

Well had a faulty ground and blew the J-pac to hell. Can’t blame the J-pac, one of the ground wires was separated from the disconnect, and if I hadn’t been in such a rush to see it running, I might have doublechecked it.  Ah well,  lesson learned.

Okay, went and picked up a 17” IBM monitor for this cab. Not as big as the other one, but eh, it will at least fit in the cab with the back on. Installed the new I-pac, and the game runs perfectly. Now to configure a few controls, and the game is done!!

Finished!
