- Small S3 chipset model detection bug fixed. - I have confirmed last night the driver works in Windows as "well" as the DOS version. This means all but one video mode work on the Trio64 (1024x768x64K which incidentally will hang your machine) and only 256 color modes, above and including 1024x768, work on the Vision864.
On version (2k.318):
- Fixed HiColor and 1600x1200 modes on the S3 Trio3D/2X (362). The colour problem was due to differences in operation from DOS. Also, Win2K's driver sets a 15-bit(!) mode rather than a 16-bit one. There aren't no 65536 colours, just half...Nice. - Some errors (exceptions, etc) occuring on the last version were removed. It had to do with Delphi optimization. Worked fine before, but now I had to disable all optimizations when compiling. Maybe I can turn them on later.
On version (2k.307):
- Interface spiced up. Everything working! - Centering buttons work also in VGA mode. Won't be useful for great trips though, so use them for small adjustments on higher video modes only. For lower resolution modes you can make better adjustments. Works just like in DOS. - SONICBlue..errr..I mean, S3 :-) support improved. Haven't yet figured out why I can't get HiColor modes working, nor 1600x1200, but every other mode works fine on the Trio 3D/2X (86C362). Previously I've had good reports on the Savage2000, but not so good on the Savage4. - To set your video chipset, see if the autodetected chipset matches yours. If not, see if there is a more appropriate alternative available. If you still can't get what you want, and the chipset manufacturer is available on WinVGATV, drop me a line.
Now you can start reporting problems concerning this driver. Use WinVGASetup. But talk to me first.
