The Daughters of Charles Cormac Annis

It has always seemed unfortunate and unfair that the women in a family, and their descendants, have generally been ignored in genealogical works. This is complicated by the lack of early records, and the fact that the brides often traveled to villages outside their native birthplace after marriage. I have tried to follow the lineages of the Annis women as closely as possible and include all of their descendants in my work. These remarkable women were the backbone and heart of the family unit during the early days of this nation. They worked hard, raising and educating their children under extremely adverse conditions, and asked for little in return for their sacrifices. The family history is replete with stories of the pioneering spirit of these women that helped build America.
