Notes

I put this page together in hurry, sorry if it seems rushed and unclear. I will try to add info and organize better as time permits.

I wrote the command line utility over 4 years ago. I don’t even have the computer I used at the time any more. I was able to find the source code, but it was compiled using an old version of Borland, which I can’t find right now. I will try to port it to Mingw in the next few days and post the source here.

I also plan on adding more info on compiling Mame. It’s really not difficult, and the Mame Devs have done a great job making the development environment and source code available. There is a great tutorial on how to compile mame on the mamedev.org site , the link is here. All the files and instructions you need can be found there.

Also note that the code provided on this site was written in a hurry, and was really just meant to meet the minimum requirements for my personal machine. It wasn’t really written for general use. Hopefully though, someone else may find it helpful.

Also, please don’t try any of this if you are not comfortable working with electricity, or do not really understand what’s involved. You will be dealing with some decent amounts of power, especially if you play with the AC power line to your monitor. It may come as a shock to you (har har), but electricity will kill you if you’re not careful. .

There are probably a bunch of mistakes on the site - if you find ‘em let me know. I visit the arcadecontrol.com forums all the time.
