Game of the Day - 4-D Warriors

Where has 4-D Warriors been all my life (another dimension perhaps?).  It's a mid-eighties horz shooter with several fun twists.  The big hook is that you warp to different dimensions (levels, worlds, screens).  You can do this at will for some of the levels by simply flying off the top of the screen.  If you do so, you immediately change worlds to the blue world (from the red world) if you are on the first area.  The color isn't the only difference, the physics change, too.  In the blue world there is gravity, so you have to keep pushing up to stay level and adjust the rest of your flying and shooting accordingly.

The next way to warp to another area is by these floating, oscillating vert blocks (or sheets).  They come up behind you and if they run into you, you are immediately transported to a different area.  In that area the physics will/can be diff again.  On the first level, one of the areas to warp to causes everything to slow down drastically and play like molasses.  From what I have seen online, especially at sites like KLOV, there are many different areas that are not only visually different, but change the play mechanics and physics as well.  It's pretty interesting all around.

As far as weapons go, you have the typical gun on the first button and a special shot on the second button.  You earn special shots by shooting enemies and collecting the power-ups they leave behind.  Then, in the middle bottom of the screen is a counter to show how many "shots" you have left.  This refers to the special weapons.

Definitely a little unique and definitely a lot of fun.

Update:  Just played again and in the first 5 minutes found four areas I hadn't seen previously...Including an area where what you kill stays on the screen and you have to avoid running into it - makes for a difficult obstacle course.  On one screen I was eaten but a monster that came out of the bottom of the screen and thought I was dead - in fact I was just transported to another (quasi-vertical) world.  Crazy.
