This is the back compartment open. A powerstrip is hidden in the back, as well as an Ethernet hub. The lower section is for hiding wires.
The real surprise hiding in back is a third computer. It is a 550 MHz EPIA processor on a mini-ITX motherboard, with a 120 GB Hard disk. It is running a version of RedHat Linux 9.0, modified by ClarkConnect. It requires only one CD to install, and after it is installed, no monitor or keyboard is necessary. All configuration is done through the browser.
The server supplies file sharing for the other two computers (using Windows File Sharing/Samba for the PC and AppleShare for the Mac), FTP, web server, and more. It also can be used for a mail server, I may enable that in the future.
The software is free for non-commercial use, and includes services include a dynamic DNS. It is designed to be set up by people who aren't Linux experts.
