Ebony Compartment

The case design has two removable media drives behind a door. The upper drive is a Pioneer DVD+-R/RW optical disk, the bottom is a flash media adapter. After several attempts at coming up with a mounting mechanism, I got strips of metal with holes, and mounted them onto a shelf. The shelf is mounted to the back of the panel.
This is how the compartment looks with the bay door open.

The hinge is made from black cable ties and two nylon spacers.

The original plan was to include a spring to have the optical drive push the door open and then have it close automatically, but I think the manual door works well.

The inner compartment is 18" x 23" x 6" deep. All cable connectors must be inside the case, so it's a somewhat close fit.

The motherboard is an ASUS P4P 800. The processor is an Intel Pentium 4 running at 3 GHz. The video card is an ATI Radeon 9600 All-in-Wonder Pro.

There are two blue cathode tubes for the interior lighting, one on the roof and one on the door.

All cables go through the hole in the rear to the back compartment. The mess in the lower-left isn't seen when the door is closed.

The fan in front pulls air in, the fans on top blow air out, so there is good air flow in the cabinet.

With the door closed, the logo is clearly visible, and you can see the computer through the window.
